In SaaS, retention now matters as much as acquisition, but customer success resources are rationed: high-value clients get dedicated CSMs while long-tail customers get minimal attention. KaleHQ founder Kishore V wanted to deliver VIP-level service to every customer without expanding CS teams.

The vision demanded a lot from an MVP: multiple data sources unified for context, AI-driven insights that predict and prevent churn, and personalised engagement across every customer segment, all inside an ambitious six month window.

What we built

AlterSquare partnered with KaleHQ to build a real-time customer retention platform on the MERN stack, spanning everything from a client-side SDK to an event-driven engagement engine.

  • An enterprise-grade client-side SDK with API-key authentication, customer token verification and real-time video delivery.
  • A distributed, event-driven microservices system on Azure serverless functions with Kubernetes auto-scaling.
  • An automated onboarding pipeline connecting billing (Stripe, Chargebee) and ticketing (Zendesk, Freshdesk) platforms, mapping every user to a persona.
  • A drag-and-drop React Flow workflow builder so CS teams can design video engagement campaigns with conditional logic, versioning and rollback.
  • Smart triggers combining time-based scheduling, real-time behavioural events, conditional branching and cooling-off periods.
